Body Contouring Center

Background

Dr. Gotkin specializes in body contouring, procedures that can reshape the abdomen, breasts and other parts of the body.

Water-Jet Assisted Liposuction

In addition to his expertise in Smartlipo™, Dr. Gotkin specializes in water-jet assisted lipo, with the FDA-approved Body-Jet™.

The Body-Jet gently sculpts your body like the ocean's waves shape the sandy beaches. Best of all, if you want soft tissue "volume enhancement" somewhere else on your body at the same time as your liposuction, the Body-Jet opens up a whole new world to an increasingly popular technique - the transfer of your own fat. While traditional liposuction basically destroys the fat cells, the Body-Jet loosens the fat without requiring impact on the fat cell itself.

The Body-Jet removes fat in a pure state, with cells largely intact. This means the fat remains alive and viable. Therefore, if you desire, the fat can be removed from one area and transferred to other areas of the body for soft tissue volume augmentation and contouring.

For example, fat removed from your hips or thighs can be safely and easily placed into your face to plump up sagging cheeks or fill in hollows under the eyes. It can also be used to enhance your buttocks or breasts, or to fill the dimples of cellulite to get rid of the "cottage cheese" appearance.

Compared to traditional liposuction, a Body-Jet treatment takes less time and, because it is much gentler to the tissues, there is less bruising, swelling and pain associated with the recovery. Complications are few and normal activities can be resumed more quickly.

Say "So Long" to Cellulite

Cellulite is a common condition that gives the appearance of lumpiness and dimpling across the skin and is most prevalent in the thigh, hip, and buttock areas.

Findings from a study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal suggest that combination treatment - using laser energy and fat transplantation - shows promise in significantly improving cellulite.

Dr. Gotkin is an expert in combination therapy for the reduction of cellulite.
